Official Visitation to Chico Breakfast Club - July 22, 2014

posted Aug 9, 2014, 8:27 AM by Lawrence Davies
Our second visitation to Chico Breakfast Club was a refreshing break in club agendas.  Their Tail Twister Lion Tom Kirkpatrick presented a program on our new international president Joe Preston's challenge to participate in the four Global Service Activity Campaigns: Engaging the Youth, Sharing the Vision, Relieving the Hunger and Protecting the Environment.  Immediately afterward, they bid for the opportunity to share personal stories by out-bidding other Lions in attendance.
Because this is a morning club and members have obligations, the last faze of the meeting is a drawing to share in the 50/50 funds received.
Their club meeting ran like clock-work, however, our secretary threw a minor wrench in the regular routine.  After the adjournment the President's gavel was missing.  When this was noted and questions were asked, we "politely asked to borrow" their gavel FOR  RANSOM!  At least three of their members will be visiting our club to retrieve it.
Oroville Ophir Lions Members in attendance: Carol M. Ciccone, Sharon Hinton, Faye Mulholland, Barbara Nash, and Larry Davies.
