Big Bear Pavilion Clean-up - August 23, 2014

The Feather River Parks and Recreation Department offered our club the opportunity to Adopt-A-Park in Oroville.
We adopted the Big Bear Pavilion in Featherbend Park.  This was our first day to wear our vests and be visible in an environmental park clean up.  Many of the park workers stopped by and asked questions and we were able to invite them to visit our club meetings.
This was also the first official project for our Oroville Ophir Family Cubs (ages 5-12 years old).  After they had helped pick-up trash, they worked on a craft project to take home.
This project was a great success! We had 10 Lions, 1 Leo, 5 cubs, and 2 visitors assist us with this project.  Our Club President Duane,1st VP Garry, 2nd VP Eddie, Membership Director Fermin, Cub Adviors Lion Faye and Lion Sharon were on hand to help the Cubs.  Lion Beth, Lion Barbara, Lion Joe and Leo Jackie helped with the clean-up. Cubs were Sofie, Ruby, Micky, Sharlene, and Shania. Our two guest were Lion Fermin's wife Paricia and Lion Garry's friend John.
